The mysteries of Rennes
Part 1 The first impressions.

Photo 1. The signboard of Rennes le Chateau with the indication of the way that ends in this town.

Rennes le Chateau, the mysterious place or maybe the place of mysteries. Our adventure with this unusual town, or more precisely with the mysteries that it hides, began on 17th September 2005. We arrived at this historical town at five o’clock in the afternoon on the day which appeared to be exceptionally lucky for us. We cannot describe in other words the event that will happen to us later in the evening, the event thanks to which we will discover the place that is being looked for  by many people.
The emotional impression that we experienced while driving to the top of the hill, and when we got out of the car for the first time was incredible. Even some time earlier, when we were passing  the border of Languedoc both me and Magdalena experienced a special feeling. These were the emotions of deep joy that we can compare to the joy which probably only  the sailors feel when they come back home after a long voyage. These emotions were very strong at that time on the way and now they became much stronger, they were simply amazing.
The first thing we did was to look at the panorama of the valley surrounding the lonely peak on which we were, and where a small mountain town of Rennes le Chateau is located.
After a few minutes, when we had walked several dozen steps, we stood just next to the best known building in this town. The Tower Magdala, as it is situated the closest to the car park, and because of the view that can be seen directly from the car park  everybody makes their way towards it.

Photo 2. The Tower Magdala

Its picture from publications and the building we are standing next to are quite different values for us. Standing in front of it, the emotions almost bring tears to our eyes and it may seem impossible but they are growing more intense with each moment. The first impression one may have while looking at the tower is its location just near the edge. Probably the creator of such a project of the location of the construction of the tower wanted to pass something in this way, it may be just an impression or perhaps significant information.

After a few minutes we were going towards the church and what we saw made an amazing impression on us. There are a lot of publications which show monuments in Rennes le Chateau, there are many photos that are shown as well as there are many descriptions. The relationship of Magdalene with Christ has been a popular subject recently. However, none of the publications known to me has presented a thing that is crucial in this respect. It turned out that history presents to us specific evidence that we can see in the form of the images in Rennes le Chateau.

When we stood on the pavement which leads to the entrance door to the church, one of such specific images appeared in front of our eyes. One look at the sculpture of a woman, both the one above the entrance to the church and the one on the statue on the left side of the pavement shows us the visible pregnancy of both figures.

Photo 3. The figure of Magdalene with a visible pregnancy that is holding a cross.

The image of a pregnant woman who is holding a cross on her hands unequivocally indicates Magdalene who is pregnant at the time after Jesus Christ had been crucified. The cross which she  is holding indicates the time after crucifixion, the attribute that could not appear in this way before crucifixion. The image of pregnant Magdalene at the time after crucifixion proves two important issues. The first one is the one that says that Christ had a child or children with Magdalene.
The second issue  are the social principles that  were obligatory; in those times a Jew and especially the descendant of the royal house and additionally the spiritual and moral teacher that Jesus was could not have an illegitimate child. This issue is the proof that marriage of Christ and Magdalene did exist, the proof that unequivocally arises from the image of a woman sculptured above the entrance door to the Christian church. Probably the place that the artist chose for this sculpture, above the door to the Christian church was the cause of this that it was not destroyed.

Photo 4.  The close-up of the figure of Magdalene with a cross on her hands.

In this close-up we can see the adornments of the two pillars on both sides of Magdalene.  The  paintings are made in such a way that in a certain perspective and an adequate distance they show patterns which resemble small children. The motifs which indicate fertility and family occur commonly in most adornments that exist in Rennes le Chateau. In this climate of adornments one may have an impression that everything here points to the existence of the family with children and one ought to assume that the family that is being indicated is the one that was living two thousand years ago.
